The continent of Asia stretches from the Suez canal in the Red Sea in the south west north to Turkey. From there, it spreads East over half of Russia all the way to the Bering Straight near Alaska and South to the tip of Indonesia near Australia.

Asia's more than 4 billion people make up over 60% of the world's population and have cultures that range from the desert Bedouin of the Saudi Arabian desert to the Mongolian herders of the steppes and the high-tech metropolis of Tokyo. Truly, Asia is an amazing place to travel.

Where will you travel to? Asia has 49 officially recognized countries as well as many territories that are either semi-independent, official or unofficial. Our list is developed starting with the official countries and we will add territories and independent states as demand develops.Many of the Near Eastern countries and territories are also found on our Middle East Travel Tips page.
