How I created the lifestyle I wanted

About me? There's not a lot. My name is Susan and I’m pleased to welcome you to my website! (That's me on the Left).

I created this website because I love to travel, but I’ve frequently found that when I’m planning to go somewhere there’s two ways to plan things: by reading about them in travel guides, which are often bland and hard to get through or by asking people who have been there (both online and off) about their experiences.

100% of the time, asking folks who have been there before has provided me with a better way to plan my trip and narrow down the choices than reading a travel guide. I still use guidebooks for things like finding hotels and getting up-to-date phone numbers, but for sketching the bold sweeps of my vacation - I always go with what other people have suggested first.

Unfortunately, finding people who have been where I want to go can be hard. Even social networking sites for travelers and review sites can be time consuming and hard to sort through.

I created this site to bring you the best of both worlds. It’s clearly still a work-in-progress, but here’s what I'm working towards: Bringing you easy-to-navigate travel tips, arranged by destination, that are in the words, pictures and stories of other travelers who have gone there before you. Because traveling is about the destination, not the planning.

I’ve worked in and around the tourism industry for several years and online for many more. I actually got started working online because I wanted to become a travel writer. I realized quickly that this wouldn’t actually give me the lifestyle I wanted. I wanted to travel when and where I wanted to go - not wherever I could sell a story about.

Writing got me into working online and I quickly began to learn how to make money online. Within a few months I was working from home full-time. However, I still wasn’t able to talk long stretches of time and travel as I wanted.

It wasn’t until I found Site Build It! that I was able to realize my dreams of creating a system to make money and travel. Now I work full-time from home on my own business and pretty soon the hubby and I are going to take off and start traveling the world.
